Warminster Fiberglass makes both Palmer-Bowlus and Parshall Flumes.  They are used to measure flows in open channels and pipelines.  Both types are precision molded of fiberglass reinforced polyester for light weight and corrosion resistance.  They both are available with a smaller flume "nested" inside, as shown in the above Parshall Flume (on the right).  The purpose is to be able to measure smaller flows when the system is new, yet have the capacity (by removing the inner flume) to measure up to the maximum design flow of the system.  Both types are available with integral stilling wells and transducer mounting bushings for automatic flow recording.

The Palmer-Bowlus Flume is available in 3 configurations:

Permanent, for grouting in place.
Insert, for temporary measurement.
Cutback, for tight spaces.

The Palmer-Bowlus Flume is available in 15 sizes, up to 72" and the Parshall Flume is available in 16 sizes, up to 144".  You can get sizing charts from our drawing files.
