WELD-ON 42 IS A REACTIVE HIGH-STRENGTH ADHESIVE.

Weld-On 42 bonds all acrylics, including extruded, cell cast and continuous cast, as well as molded parts and some crosslinked sheets. It will also bond acrylic to polyester, butyrate, PVC, styrene, wood and other materials.

Weld-On 42 is a two-component, medium syrupy, clear reactive acrylic cement. It polymerizes by the reaction of Component A (Base Resin) with Component B (catalyst). Weld-On 42 is packaged in a 10:1 230ml cartridge designed for use with a 2 component dispensing gun and a static mixing tip. The adhesive is mixed as it passes through the mixer tip. The mixed product polymerizes at room temperature, joints are usually hard enough for handling in about 4 hours at 70°F. Machining may be done after 24 hours. For maximum strength, the joint should be cured for 4 hours at 158°F, preferably within 24 hours after assembly.

Weld-On 42 is recommended for structural bonding of acrylic plastics especially where good clarity retention is required. It has many applications in the sign industry and in other plastics fabrication industires.

When mixed, pot life at 75°F is approximately 20 minutes. If temperature is above 85°F, pre-cool to 75°F before using.
