Specification
Guideline
General
All Clear PVC
Schedule 40 pipe and fittings shall be manufactured from a Type I, Grade
I Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) compound with a Cell Classification of 12454
per ASTM D1784. The pipe shall be manufactured in strict compliance to
ASTM D1785, consistently meeting and/or exceeding the applicable Quality
Assurance Test of this standard to material, workmanship, burst pressure,
flattening and superior extrusion quality. All product shall be immediately
bagged and packaged after its manufactured and stored indoors until shipment
from the factory to ensure the highest quality and prevent damage. All
Clear PVC pipe and fittings must have certification marks and comply with
NSF 61 and FDA regulations.
Materials
All pipe and
fittings shall be manufactured from transparent PVC compound with a cell
classification of 12545 per ASTM D1784. This compound shall comply with
ANSI/NSF Standard 61 for Drinking Water and Health effects requirements
and meet the provisions of United States FDA Code of Federal Regulations.
The pipe and fittings meet and or exceed all applicable industry standards
and requirements set forth by the American Society for testing and Materials
(ASTM). This specification meets and or exceeds all minimum manufacturing
requirements for Clear Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) to Schedule 40 iron pipe
size (IPS) dimensions and tolerances for pressure pipe and fittings.
Joining Procedure
The clear PVC
pipe and fittings shall be joined by solvent welding in accordance with
the manufacturer's guidelines and installation instructions. Consult the
manufacturer for the selection of the proper cement suitable for installation,
environment and design. Refer to the manufacture's charts for appropriate
cure times. Joints shall not be disturbed prior to complete curing of the
cement. Improper cement and procedures can cause joint failure.
