This test procedure is based on the IMO Assembly Resolution A.753(18). This test method subjects a pipe/fitting sample to a constant 36,011 Btu/(hr-ft²) net heat flux (up to 1800 degrees F flame temperature) for 30 minutes duration and then subjects the sample to a 15 minute hydrostatic leak test at 150 psig. This test gives a purchaser of fiberglass pipe and fittings the ability to determine the fire resistance of a fiberglass piping system when filled with water.
